Pieced Out
A child of so many cultures... a soul of so many intersections...
Displaced, I long to glue together shards of myself.
Piece meal identities peppered on my body, where I once felt so confident
I now hide behind an impostor's mask.
Qui suis-je? ¿De donde soy? Is this what I've become?
The product of internalized assimilation... The child of forgotten memories...
A soul of multiple complexities.
Fading nor blending are my options.
Each page tells a different story carefully wedged
between a leather casing of distinguished imperfections.
A child no longer, only a soul naked and stripped down to realities.
